information design marketing • identity presentation design
As a combined major in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration, I often used my design knowledge in my coursework to bridge my two areas of study. Below are a few student projects.
Advertising and Brand Promotion (Fall 2022)
Individual Brand Project: LA Dodgers
Slides were designed in Illustrator and paired with an oral presentation. I opted to use the signature Dodger Blue, with Futura for the text as a nod to what is used in ballpark signage.
Marketing Context: For this project, I was tasked to choose a brand and asses their current communications stategy, provide historical context, and to compare it to a key competitor. I chose to do my presentation on the Dodgers who I have followed and admired their marketing strategy for a number of years, particularly on social media.
Group Project: Mountain Dew Brand Refresh
I designed the presentation in Illustrator, the campaign book in InDesign, and created campaign assets in Photoshop. In both documents, I used brand colors and custom-chosen fonts to emphasize the fun nature of the campaign while keeping readability in mind depending on the delivery method.
Marketing Context: This project involved choosing a brand in need of a repositioning, refresh, or opportunity for a brand extension. My team opted to propose a refresh for Mountain Dew, using a new marketing campaign to bring all of its unique products together into one family.
Marketing Research (Spring 2021)
Based on the brand's existing logo, I built out a visual identity including fonts, icons, and infographics used to present our research process and findings.
Marketing Context: FureverWell is a potential sub-brand of Niche Digital Brands, offering customizable premium-level dog food. This group project involved conducting marketing research for and presenting our findings to a real client on the best course of action to launch this brand.
