During the Fall 2020 semester, I had the opportunity to rebrand NU Stage, a club that I have been performing in since I first got to Northeastern.
Serving in a new Graphic Designer role on our Committee of Outreach and Publicity (COOP), I revamped our logo, established colors & typefaces, and compiled them all in a brand book for future instruction.
Phase 1: Logo Transformation
The Old Logo

As the COOP Media Chair for the previous two semesters, I noticed a few pain points when using our original logo:
• It was only available in a .png format, making it blurry in large applications
• In smaller applications, such as social media profile pictures, the type was too small to read
• The typeface(s) and colors used were not recorded, so it was difficult to create cohesive branded material
The New Logo

As an ever growing club, and with increased reliance on digital platforms to connect with our community during the pandemic, we felt it was the perfect time to give our brand a little bit of a boost.
I opted to keep the spotlight icon as it was an already recognizable mark in our community, and created an editable file in Illustrator. Instead of the original full logo, this mark could also be used on it's own. Moving the logotype to the side also offered a more prominent look for larger applications.
Although I used similar colors to the original logo, I selected a more vibrant set to convey the liveliness of our club and our productions.
